Shawn currently leads the global R&D organization for Stryker’s Upper Extremity business unit located in Columbia City, serving as the site’s leader in his role. Shawn started with this business in 2010 as part of the shoulder product development team and has been instrumental in growing the shoulder business to a top market share position. During his tenure the business has gone through multiple owners, including Tornier, Wright Medical, and now Stryker. Prior to being a part of this business Shawn spent the early years of his career as a Product Development Engineer with Avalign Technologies, a contract manufacturer for the orthopedic industry. Shawn obtained his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Biomedical Engineering with a concentration in orthopedic biomechanics from Wright State University. Shawn holds over 15 patents in orthopedic design and has strong passion for developing leaders and building a high performing organizational culture. Shawn and his wife, Sarah, have been married for 14 years and have a young son and daughter, Sam and Ruth.
