Former Mayor of Warsaw, Indiana Joseph Thallemer served three terms as mayor, having been elected in November 2011, 2015, and 2019. He previously served three terms as City Councilman At-Large. He has been a staunch advocate for community policies and improvements aimed at maintaining and building on Warsaw’s presence as Orthopedic Capital of the World®. These initiatives include leading the US 30 Coalition, a multi-county effort aimed at upgrading US 30 to a freeway for safety and efficiency. He has championed downtown revitalization and led efforts to create and populate the Warsaw Technology Park. Dr. Thallemer is a graduate of Warsaw Community High School; Ball State University, Pre-Optometry; and Indiana University, B.S., Doctor of Optometry. He established his Optometry practice in 1980.
