OrthoWorx recently convened a group of local marketing professionals to discuss website benchmark metrics, trends and best practices to ensure an optimal online experience for visitors to local, community-based websites.
This group is the OrthoWorx Community Website Benchmark Committee and meets quarterly.
The trigger for forming the group was OrthoWorx’s desire to maximize the online experience for site visitors to MyWarsaw.netSM, an OrthoWorx initiative. MyWarsaw.Net was developed to serve as a community web portal, promoting the quality of life in the community and region while also connecting site visitors to area resources. OrthoWorx was determined to explore how it measured compared to similar, local websites targeting similar audiences and also how to cross-promote and maximize resources between MyWarsaw.net and similar websites. These areas of interest also resonated with other local organizations that focus on providing information about our community.
“Collaboratively, we can best represent our community through cross promoting our offerings and connecting to each other to maximize our resources. All organizations participating on the committee are small and have one, not more than two, marketing professionals on staff. The group’s combined, shared expertise compels all to improve our website visitors’ experiences,” states Tammy Allen, OrthoWorx Director of Marketing.
Now, a dedicated group of professionals meets quarterly to discuss these topics and work to provide online visitors a cohesive experience to learn more about Warsaw and the surrounding communities. Current committee members include:
• OrthoWorx
• Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce
• Kosciusko Convention and Visitors Bureau
• Kosciusko County
• Kosciusko Economic Development Corporation (KEDCo)
• Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce
The City of Warsaw has also been asked to join the committee.
“Even though each of our target audiences differs a bit, there is still value in collaborating to provide online visitors with a positive experience when they visit our community’s websites. This is a great opportunity to learn from one another,” commented Mary Kittrell, Executive Director, Kosciusko Convention and Visitors Bureau.
