Some of the nation’s leading life sciences executives, venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and researchers are headlining the 2012 Indiana Life Sciences Summit.
The all-star lineup includes leaders from Bloomberg, Cook Medical, Covance, Credit Suisse, Eli Lilly and Company, Endocyte, Harlan Laboratories, Marcadia Biotech, OrbiMed Ventures, OrthoWorx, Pfizer, Purdue University, Quaker Partners, Roche Diagnostics and Zimmer.
“It may say ‘Indiana’ in the name, but the summit has an incredible caliber of speakers and panelists, including some of the leading life sciences executives in the U.S. We have all of them in one place, discussing the current national/global issues and opportunities and how it affects Indiana and beyond. This is really a national level conference right here in our backyard,” stated Lori LeRoy, Public Relations and Marketing Director, BioCrossroads.
The summit kicks off Monday, October 22, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., with the annual networking reception, this year hosted by Eli Lilly and Company and Cook Medical. Winners of the BioCrossroads New Venture Competition will be announced during this time.
John Lechleiter, Ph.D., President, Chairman and CEO of Eli Lilly and Company and Chairman, Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, will present the morning keynote speech.
Also, three panel discussions are included in the summit, injecting an interactive element into the mix. “Getting several different perspectives from a number of life sciences thought leaders allows us to put a diverse group of executives from start-ups to large corporations to venture capital firms and academic institutions on the same stage. Their engaging dialogue provides interesting and valuable insight to our attendees,” stated LeRoy.
