Warsaw Mayor Joseph Thallemer is currently serving his third term as mayor, having been elected in November of 2011, 2015, and 2019. He previously served three terms as City Councilman At-Large. He has been a staunch advocate for community policies and improvements aimed at maintaining and building on Warsaw’s presence as Orthopedic Capital of the World. These initiatives include leading the US 30 coalition, a multi-county effort aimed at upgrading US 30 to a freeway for safety and efficiency. He has championed downtown revitalization and led efforts to create and populate the Warsaw Technology Park. Mayor Thallemer is a graduate of Warsaw Community High School; Ball State University, Pre-Optometry; and Indiana University, B.S., Doctor of Optometry. He established his Optometry practice in 1980.
