Professionals in Northern Indiana have a new organization, WISE, Inc., to augment and support their growth.

The organization seeks to inspire, support and empower professional women. “OrthoWorx values WISE as a new, professional organization to help to develop, retain and recruit a diverse workforce for our region. This helps advance our Community Enhancement and Workforce Development Initiatives,” stated Sheryl Conley, OrthoWorx President & Chief Executive Officer and WISE Advisor.

WISE educational opportunities help develop knowledge and leadership skills, build professional and personal connections, promote the presence of professional women and foster mentoring relationships.

“WISE resonates with professional women of our region and is experiencing great success since launching last September. Professional women and men attend WISE events, participate in the new mentoring program and are also contributing or developing their skills and talents by serving as volunteers,” stated Tammy Allen, OrthoWorx Director of Marketing and WISE President. “While WISE is focused on professional women, we recognize the value in what women and men can learn from each other.”

The mentoring program successfully launched January 30, 2014 and includes 46 participants, female and male. The WISE Mentoring Program includes group events and personalized mentoring. It is designed to help create strong peer networks, assist participants to grow professionally, develop new skills, explore new career paths and establish career goals while learning critical leadership skills. This fosters giving back both to the community and to participants’ professions.

WISE offers various opportunities for professionals in the region, in part, through upcoming events scheduled this year. Over 80 professionals attended the most recent event February 18, 2014 titled Building Your Brand for Personal and Professional Development. Attendee Leslie Butterbaugh, Development Officer, The Honeywell Foundation, Inc. stated, “After being away from the area for a while, attending this event was really a must for me to get re-connected with businesses in the area. A lot has changed since I’ve been away!” Don’t miss the April 24 event, Maximize Your Strengths for Personal & Professional Growth, and May 14 Speed Networking event.
